Web Developer (El Salvador)

Producer & Roaster Forum is seeking an experienced Web Developer to join the team. The ideal candidate will be based in El Salvador.

The ideal candidate for this role will be experienced, reliable, and self-motivated, with good experience building and maintaining a variety of different websites.

We are offering this role on a permanent/full-time basis, and it will be fully remote.

As part of the digital team for one of the world’s leading coffee industry events, you will:

  • Develop new website content from Figma/Illustrator mockups
  • Maintain existing websites, implementing changes to improve page load time, technical SEO performance, and more
  • Act quickly to address and resolve any bugs or errors
  • Investigate any issues on analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Search Console, Pagespeed, Lighthouse etc) and act accordingly to resolve them
  • Improve site UX as much as possible
  • Consider performance across desktop, mobile, and a range of browsers
  • Build and update ecommerce platforms
  • Code custom solutions to improve site performance
  • Test any changes to ensure that sites are performing as expected
  • Be flexible to team requirements 
  • Communicate technical issues to the appropriate team members
  • Outline any missing resources, plugins, etc

Essential:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar development role, freelance or full time
  • Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript
  • Familiarity with WordPress
  • Knowledge of back end languages such as PHP, Python, Ruby, and more
  • Experience creating sites from technical mockups
  • Basic understanding of SEO (with a focus on technical SEO)
  • Experience creating backups
  • Solid knowledge of site security measures
  • Familiarity with performance metrics across Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Pagespeed
  • Schema knowledge
  • Experience working on or building ecommerce sites
  • Experience maintaining existing websites
  • Experience with UX

  • WordPress master
  • Highly knowledgeable about UX
  • Passion for specialty coffee
  • Experience building publications
  • Experience working in international teams
